As the weather cools down this fall, many of us may take for granted the blankets we snuggle up with at night.

This year, more homeless people than ever before will brave cold weather.

One group is doing their part to help keep them warm.

Every week ten women meet up to quilt deep in Dale County

The Arguta Homemakers Club is giving these quilts to homeless people in the Wiregrass.

Although these ladies have been quilting for decades, the club started donating the quilts three years ago.

The group can finish up to three large quilts a day. They're distributed with handmade drawstring bags to hold and protect the blankets.
While the women know they are making a difference.

Many say the project has also given them a sense of purpose.

A good time warming bodies and hearts around the Wiregrass.

Since 2011, the group has donated about 175 quilts.

They will be distributing more at next month's homeless standdown.
