Thousands of Wiregrass residents have power back after losing it for about five hours today. The outage affected over six-thousand residents in Headland, Abbeville, and Eufaula.
It happened when a transmission line at the intersection of County Road 22 and Highway 41 fell to the ground, causing a breaker outage. Some customers at a nearby Subway saw the line fall, causing a grass fire. Alabama Power was able to get power restored to residents and businesses within hours. No-one was harmed.
