This could be the beginning of the end...
For the first time since May 20th releases out of Garrison Dam have decreased.
Monday outflows were reduced from 150,000 cfs to 145,000 cfs.
The Corps forecast shows releases continuing to decrease through July.
Stepping down to 120,000 cfs by July 18th.
The National Weather Service says at 120,000 cfs the river stage at Bismarck should be about 17 feet.
That's 2 feet lower than it is today.
While flows are decreasing they are still expected to stay at what's considered high levels in July and August.
There is still a long road ahead for flood victims.
