Couple arrested in car thefts from Daphne dealer

DAPHNE, Ala. (AP) - Daphne police spokesman Lt. Jud Beedy says 49-year-old Patricia Ann Baker, a former chief financial officer for East Bay Kia in Daphne, was captured in Savannah, Ga. Her husband, 49-year-old Randy Harold Baker, was arrested in Tennessee.

They had been on the run since late last year.

Patricia Baker is charged with 12 charges of first-degree theft of property, with bail set at $117,500. Her husband is awaiting transfer from Tennessee. It was unknown if either had an attorney.

Both had worked at the Kia dealership for about a year. The 12 missing vehicles were found abandoned, impounded by police or sold to unwary buyers.
