One of the approved items was funding for an independent study to into how the city manages and operates its sewage treatment plants. Commissioners along with the City Manager hope these improvements and studies will help in their negotiations with the EPA.
"We continue everyday to try to improve our sewer system and do those things that hopefully lead to a settlement with the issues with the Environmental Protection Agency," said Mike West
Dothan City Manager.
Improvements will be made at the Choctawhatchee, Old Mussee and Beaver Creek plants.
