Pearl Harbor Survivors Group: We Will Disband

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (AP) -- As association of Pearl Harbor
survivors founded in 1958 has announced they will be disbanding at
the end of the month.

Pearl Harbor Survivors Association President William Muehleib
(Mew-'LIB) made the announcement during a speech Wednesday
commemorating the 70th anniversary of the bombing.

He cited the age and poor health of remaining members. He

The announcement comes as about 120 survivors of the bombing of
Pearl Harbor observed a moment of silence to commemorate the
Japanese attack and the thousands who lost their lives on Dec. 7,

The moment of silence came just before 8 a.m., when the first
Japanese planes launched their attack.
