Tyndall AFB Gate Closing for Repairs

TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Illinois Gate’s inbound traffic lanes are scheduled to be closed for repairs Dec. 3 through Jan. 3, 2013.

Detour signs will be posted directing all inbound traffic to Louisiana South gate. All outbound traffic will remain as normal through Illinois gate. No outbound traffic will be permitted through Louisiana South gate as it is dedicated for one-way, inbound traffic only. Sabre Gate will continue to function as normal.

The gate is being redesigned to minimize traffic mishaps and improve traffic flow by adding an additional four feet to the existing incoming lanes.

For more information about the gate closure contact the 325th Security Forces Operations Flight at (850) 283-2553 or the Public Affairs office at (850) 283-4500.
