FORT RUCKER, Ala. (April 17, 2012) – Anthony Brock, 41 was killed yesterday afternoon when beams collapsed near the crane he was working in on an aircraft hangar which is being newly constructed at Hanchey Army Airfield. Brock worked for Precision Erection a subcontractor of Hansel and Phelps Construction out of Orlando, Florida.
This is a Mobile District Army Corps of Engineers project which began last fall shortly after the contract was awarded.
There were no other injuries and no damage to any aircraft or property. Fort Rucker and the Mobile District of the Army Corps of Engineers are on site today investigating the cause of the accident.
