One Arizona Cardinals cheerleader has had a unique path to the NFL sidelines.
Megan Welter is also an Iraq war veteran.
Welter says she started dancing at a very young age.
But after college, Welter says she wanted to do something meaningful, so she joined the U.S. Army and spent 16 months in Iraq.
There, her job was critical to the success of the troops.
Welter says she made sure the soldiers on the front line were able to communicate.
Today, Welter is still involved with the military.
She’s currently a reservist for a military police battalion.
Welter says when everyone stands up to sing the national anthem before kick-off, she can’t help but think about her time in Iraq and the special meaning it holds for her.
