FORT RUCKER, Ala. –With the new information released from the Department of Defense yesterday, Fort Rucker will now see the unpaid civilian furlough reduced from 11 days down to six days for Fiscal Year 2013.

This is obviously welcome news for our Army and our installation and our valued employees. We still must ensure all employees have taken the full 6 days as per the guidance from the Secretary of Defense. That could take a few more weeks to complete.

We are currently developing plans to help determine when we will be able to return to full operations. Our goal is to transition smoothly back into more normal operations as soon as is practical and as safely and orderly as possible.
