Military Plane Crashes in GA

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - The U.S. Navy will have a closed memorial service on Friday at Pensacola Naval Air Station for two Marines, one sailor and a Navy retiree who died when their Panhandle-based training jet crashed in north Georgia.

The military released the names of the four crash victims Wednesday afternoon: Ret. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Charles McDainel, 67, of Cantonment; Marine Capt. Jason Paynter, 38, of Pensacola; Marine Lt. Shawn Nice, 26, of Levittown, Penn.; and Navy Ensign Zachary Eckhart, 25, of Orefield, Penn.

The men died Monday when their plane went down north of Atlanta near Georgia's boundaries with North Carolina and Tennessee.
