TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - The Veterans Administration, looking to
meet the needs of female veterans, has opened an expanded women's
clinic in Tuscaloosa.
Dayna Stephens, women's veterans program manager, says the
1,400-square-foot clinic will offer primary care and will treat
everything from hypertension to diabetes to gynecological needs.
VA officials say there about 34,000 female veterans in Alabama.
They say they expect that number to increase in the next few years
as more women come home from Iraq and Afghanistan.
