Police: Suicide attack kills 4 in NW Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) - Police say a suicide car bomber detonated his explosives next to a second vehicle and killed four people in Pakistan's northwest.

The attack Monday occurred in Baka Khel, an area just outside the lawless, semi-autonomous tribal regions where the Pakistani military has been battling Taliban and al-Qaida fighters.

Police official Iqbal Marwat says the four dead were in the second vehicle.

The Taliban have threatened to ramp up suicide attacks in Pakistan if the military continues with operations against them. Two blasts over the weekend killed 22 people in the northwest.
