Earlier today at Fort rocker, a community event was held on post to bring the wiregrass community together with the military.
Citizens were invited to Lake Tholocco to enjoy the day.
Area mayors attended to sign the army community covenant to acknowledge soldiers, their families, and the importance of Fort Rucker.
Every year, the local command group signs the army family covenant to recognize the importance of taking care of families while their loved ones are overseas.
“These are 2 very important articles that talk about the commitment, not only from the army chain of command, from other organizations and the communities and the signing of their government" says Major General James Barclay III, United States Army Aviation
After the mayors that could not make it to today's event sign the covenant, it will be put on display at Fort Rucker.
