The official kick-off for the U.S. – China Manufacturing Symposium will start at the Wiregrass Museum of Art Wednesday evening. Most visitors will get into Dothan Wednesday afternoon, and there will be a short golf outing. However, around 5:00 p.m., Chinese business leaders will funnel into the art museum for a welcome ceremony. There will be a piano player and catered hors d'oeuvres at the reception. Director of the museum, Joe Sette, said it is also a great way to showcase the community's artwork.
“They'll be greeted here at the museum by the museum staff, the board of directors, and other city officials. We'll have an opportunity to show them the gallery and, right now, we have the Youth Art Month so we have over a hundred paintings of artwork from local school children, so I think that will be pretty cool for them to see,” explained Sette, Director of the Wiregrass Museum of Art.
The reception will go until 8:00 p.m. Basket Case is catering the event. News 4 will have extended live coverage from the event at 5, 5:30, and 6:00 p.m.
