Tropical Storm Isaac is strengthening as it churns through the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Check out these images of Isaac taken from space by the International Space Station. This is what the storm looked like as the I.S.S. flew over just before noon today (Monday). The clouds cover quite a large area.
The National Hurricane Center reports as of 2 p.m. ET, Isaac was centered about 280 miles southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River.
Its top wind speeds are hitting 65 miles per hour.
The projected track brings Isaac ashore before dawn Wednesday along the Louisiana coast, near New Orleans, likely at hurricane strength.
