Tropical Storm Aletta is weakening is it spins far out over the Pacific.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm's maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph (65 kph) early Wednesday with gradual weakening expected during the next two days.
Aletta is centered about 770 miles (1,240 kilometers) south of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California. The storm is moving west-northwest near 9 mph (15 kph).
