The trial of ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak resumed in Cairo after a three-month delay, but it was put on hold again until the new year.
An ambulance brought the ex-leader to the courthouse, and he was wheeled inside on a hospital stretcher.
Egyptians protested outside, demanding the death penalty.
Mubarak faces charges in the deaths of hundreds of protestors who were killed during an uprising earlier this year. He's also charged with abuse of power.
Mubarak has been under arrest in a hospital since April.
His two sons who are in prison also face charges.
