Syria's government appears to have made a significant step in destroying its chemical weapons.
An international chemical weapons watchdog group says the country has destroyed the equipment it used to make those weapons.
The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons visited 21 of 23 sites. The team didn't visit two of the sites for security concerns. However, the equipment from those sites was moved and inspected somewhere else.
The country had until November 1 to destroy that equipment.
It still has to destroy its existing stockpile and weapons. That's supposed to happen by next summer.
