Chaos broke out during the Democratic Unity Party's presidential campaign in Santa Cruz.

The melee didn't erupt because of differing political opinions.

It began when fans from two different soccer clubs began fighting and then started hurling chairs at each other.

The party's candidate said soccer fans didn't cause the riot, supporters of President Evo Morales did. He said they acted as though they were soccer fans.
