Militants launched a series of attacks in Israel.
The Israeli response was swift and deadly, and could be the sign of even more violence to come.

Israeli retaliated for back-to-back attacks near Israel's border with Egypt .
Warplanes bombed the Gaza Strip after gunmen opened fire on a bus in southern Israel minutes later the militants fired an anti-tank missile at a car in the same area.
And they later hit an Israeli military patrol with a roadside bomb.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a stern warning for those responsible.
He said anyone who strikes against Israel should expect to pay a very high price.

Israel isn't just pointing its finger at the Palestinians.
They say these attacks are proof that Egypt's new government simply isn't up to the job of controlling terrorists inside its own borders.
Israeli Army Spokeswoman Avital Leibowitz says, "Our initial assumption is that a terrorist squad has infiltrated to israel and caused this multiple attack."
Egypt denied that Thursday's attacks originated inside its borders, but Israel says that this is exactly what happened.
