Pacific Tropical Storm Bud yet to strengthen

Despite favorable conditions, Tropical Storm Bud in the Pacific has yet to strengthen.

Tropical Storm Bud, roughly 400 to 500 miles South/Southwest of the western Mexico coast, is still a low-grade Tropical Storm as of 2am Pacific Daylight Time.

Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center expect Bud, the second storm of the 2012 Pacific Hurricane season, to grow stronger over the next 48 hours. Currently, sustained winds in the storm are only 40 miles per hour, and extend 45 miles out from the center of circulation.

It is also expected to turn from its current northwesterly movement to a more northern and possibly even northeasterly track.

At the moment, it poses no danger to land. However, by the end of the week, it could move much closer to parts of Western Mexico.

There are no active tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean at this time.
