The National Hurricane Center is currently tracking two named storms in the Pacific Ocean.
Tropical Storm Karina is over 1400 miles to the east of Hawaii, but unlike Iselle before it, this storm will not pose a threat to the island state. Forecasters with the Hurricane Center project it will eventually turn to the northwest.
The twelfth named storm of the 2014 Eastern Pacific Season is closer to North America, but like Karina, will pose no threat to land either. Tropical Storm Lowell is forecast to move to the north and west and basically remain parallel to the coastline.
