Mubarak Sentenced to Life in Prison

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in the killing of protesters during last year's uprising.

Chaos erupted in the courtroom following the verdict Saturday.

The judge acquitted six of his aides.

People began chanting that the decision wasn't harsh enough and fights broke out.

The Islamist group Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest and oldest opposition group, called for protests in Tahrir Square, the center of last year's protests.

Mubarak opponents want to see the 84-year-old executed.

According to Amnesty International, about 840 people died and more than six-thousand others were injured in last year's 18-day uprising.
