Mexico Suspends Offer to Give Power to Texas

MEXICO CITY (AP) -Mexico made the offer to help Texas get through an ice storm that forced rolling blackouts.

But now, it's finding that it needs that electricity to deal with severe cold temperatures within Mexico.

Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission also says the below-freezing temperatures in northern Mexico have affected the generating capacity of some of its plants.

Forecasters say the wind chill near the border with El Paso, Texas, could reach four degrees below zero. They say the cold front could send snow into other border cities.
