We're learning new details about a U-S predator drone having been targeted by an Iranian military aircraft.
Administration officials tell CNN it happened over the Arabian Gulf this week.
The Pentagon says there were about 16-miles between the two aircraft.
The officials say this was Iran's latest attempt to stop the United States from collecting intelligence in the region.
They say the drone was flying in international airspace off Oman when Iran detected it and shadowed the drone.
The Pentagon says Iran left after a verbal warning.
No shots were fired, but officials say the U-S is fully prepared to defend their drone.
Iran's Press TV reported on Tuesday that an American reconnaissance plane was trying to intrude into Iranian airspace.
A Pentagon spokesman says all U-S aircraft stayed over international waters the whole time.
