MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Mexican authorities say gunmen burst into the
office of the police chief of a northern city and shot him to

Santa Catarina Mayor Gabriel Navarro says city police chief
German Perez was shot several times Monday.

Navarro says Perez had not mentioned receiving any threats when
they spoke earlier in the day.

Santa Catarina is a suburb of the northern city of Monterrey.
The greater Monterrey area has been the scene of constant killings
and reprisals among rival drug traffickers since a rupture between
the Gulf and Zeta cartels in late 2009.

Do you honestly think that killing the police chief is going to let the drug lords have their way ? No! And why is this, it is because inside all criminal activity is a crack. A mole, a nark, a betrayer. There is always someone that will get fed up with living in the dark of so much evilness and they'll let the sun shine through. It happens all the time. It's a tiny light at first, it goes unnoticed.People get tired of carrying around so much pain and suffering. The weight of it all is enormous. That tiny little light explodes into the sun shining through the darkness and destroys the darkness of evil. Those drugs and drug lords in Mexico they'll be there for a while then, they'll be a tiny little light.
