Forecasters With Hurricane Center Monitoring Disturbance in Gulf of Mexico

The 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season kicked off on June 1st, and this morning, forecasters are monitoring a disturbance in the southwestern parts of the Gulf of Mexico.

The 2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season kicked off on June 1st, and this morning, forecasters are monitoring a disturbance in the southwestern parts of the Gulf of Mexico.

The storm is not even a Tropical Depression yet, and is currently classified as Code Orange with a 50% chance of developing over the next three days.

An air force reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to fly into the storm later today to investigate it further.

If the storm does become a Tropical Storm later on, it would be named Arthur.
