Faster Than the Speed of Light

Scientists in Italy have surpassed one of the basic laws of physics.

Researchers at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva say they've recorded particles traveling faster than the speed of light.

They say they've isolated a sub-atomic particle that moves faster than anyone thought was physically possible and that they repeated the experiment thousands of times with the same result.

Physicists use the Collider to shoot single isolated atoms at each other in a controlled environment in an effort to recreate the origins of the universe.
