Al Qaeda arrests made overseas

The New York subway bomb plot has stretched to Norway and Germany.

Police have arrested three al Qaeda suspects tied to planned attacks in the US AND Britain.

Janne Kristiansen with theNorway Police Security Service said, "The head of the security service said 'they're charged with intent to commit terror and planning to carry through an act of terror."

Police say they were using the same kind of terror tactics seen in the foiled plot to bomb the New York City subway last year, including the use of powerful peroxide bombs.

US authorities say Adnan Shukrijumah has been linked to the bombing plots in both countries. He was indicted yesterday in the subway plot. the al qaeda ringleader is already one of the FBI's most wanted terrorists with a five billion dollar bounty on his head.

Scotland yard detectives arrested another terror suspect wanted in the subway bomb plots. As well as a plan to blow up a mall in manchester.

Us authorities want to bring Abid Naseer to new york to face charges. The 24 year old pakistani born suspect was arrest last year for the british plot.. But prosecutors didn't have enough evidence to build a case.

The aggressive hunt for terrorists now spans four countries signalling global cooperation to close the net on an international terror ring.
