More than a dozen US citizens, many of them from Minnesota, are being charged with aiding a Somalia-based terrorist organization.
Attorney General Eric Jolder says 14 people from 3 states are charged with supporting the terrorist group Al Shabaab in Somalia.
One of the accused is 26 year old Omar Hammami.
The US citizen from Alabama has been fighting in Somalia for 3-years.
Officials say he also makes propaganda videos to recruit other Americans.
He is believed to a ranking member of the Al Shabaab organization and has operational responsibilities.
Al Shabaab is a terrorist group with links to Al Qaeda that has several thousand fighters battling Somalia’s government.
