The Bay County Commission and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will host a series of public shooting range events at the Campflowers Gun Range as they work toward establishing a permanent public facility at another location.
The Campflowers Gun Range, located at 8428 S. Campflowers Rd. in Youngstown, will be open to the public on the following dates:
Saturday, May 11
Sunday, May 12
Saturday, May 18
Sunday, May 19
Saturday, June 8
Sunday, June 9
Saturday, July 13
Sunday, July 14
Daily Schedule (Hours of Operation 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.):
8am-noon – 10-yard pistol
Noon-4pm – 100-yard rifle
Shotguns are prohibited. Target frames and backings will be provided; however, shooters must bring their own paper targets. The range fee will be $10 per adult, payable by cash or check only, and minors under the age of 16 are admitted free but must be accompanied by an adult.
“This partnership between FWC and the Bay County Commission fulfills the requests of many Bay County residents looking for a safe, inexpensive place to practice their firearms skills,” Bay County Commissioner Guy Tunnell said. “It just makes good public safety sense.”
Any fees left after operational costs are covered will go toward establishing a permanent gun range in Bay County.
“FWC is happy to be able to assist in providing an opportunity for Bay County residents to safely enjoy shooting sports. The upcoming range day events will offer a great opportunity for those looking to practice marksmanship, sight in a rifle or simply gain more experience with their personal firearms in a safe environment,” said FWC’s NW Regional Coordinator of Hunter Safety and Public Shooting Ranges George Warthen.
