Meet 7-year-old Jed Shouppe at 5 years old, Jed put his hands on the drum sticks after his dad gave him the invitation.

"He just said, hey you want to learn how to play the drums and I said sure," explained Jed.

"Well on his 6th birthday was when i actually got him his first set," said Jed's dad, Joey Shouppe.

A set that has turned into an after school neccesseity.
Jed says he started off keeping it simple but he likes to add a little extra now.

"My favorite beat is something like "bump cock"

His dad says jed never got any professional lessons,

"I've always played in church so he was always with me two or three years before he even started playing so I guess he could hear it and picked up on it," said Joey.

He says it's all in his ear.

"I asked him, I said how do you know how to do what you're doing? He said 'I can hear it and if I can hear it i can feel it and if I can feel it I can play it,' explained Joey.

Besides the drums jed plays, "the congos and the keyboard."

Jed says his future goals involve music of course.

"I want to be a boy who plays everything, so I can teach everybody how to play," added Jed.

Jed says once he's done on stage the crowd's reaction is unanimous.

"They say you're awesome Jed."

And there's only one way a kid could feel after that, "that makes me feel awesome and proud," smiled Jed.

Two feelings that go to show you're never too young to wow the crowd.

Besides instruments Jed says he loves school.
He made the Honor Roll last quarter and says his favorite subjects are math and reading.

Jed's dad says his only dream for him in the future is to use his talents for the lord.
