Dothan's Medical AIDS Outreach chapter celebrates World Aids Day.

The theme this year is "Getting to Zero."

Dozens gathered at the Wiregrass Foundation for prayer, music and presentations.

After the ceremony everyone went outside to release balloons for friends and family who have lost their lives to HIV or AIDS.

Organizers say knowing your status is important.

"What we want to do is bring awareness to the community about the issues dealing with HIV and aids and let people know that it is alive and well in our community and there is also a place that they can come for help," said Pam Holton HIV Health Educator.

Free HIV testing is available Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Just stop by 545 West Main Street Suite 10.

They'll just swab the inside of your mouth and you get your results in 20 minutes.
