Working with Chinese investors has already proven to be successful for one Alabama County.
Wilcox County is the home of the Golden Dragon Precise Copper Plant.
As of this week they've started manufacturing and shipping product.
Thomasville's Mayor, Sheldon Day says he's proud to call Golden Dragon Precise Copper an Alabama product, made by Alabama residents.
Day says the plant brought more than 300 much needed jobs to an area with a high poverty level.
But the deal didn't happen overnight, it took three years to solidify.
Day says it began with a chance meeting with SoZo Group C.E.O Reymond Chang at the Thomasville Christmas Parade.
"Then we started talking about projects and as we became friends and he trusted me and I trusted him, he began to tell me about some things that were beginning to happen and a few months later he was asked by golden dragon to do a R.F.P," Day said.
Chang says the deal took respect and humility.
With a factory open and already making products, that deal has already benefitted both parties.
The Golden Dragon Precise Copper Plant is a $100 million facility.
