The Wilcox Central Boys Basketball Team took a 15-point lead into halftime against Brewbaker Tech during Thursday's 4A Regional Semifinal game at the Dothan Civic Center. But, it took a fourth quarter rally for the Jaguars to advance to Saturday's Regional Final.
Brewbaker Tech stormed back out of the locker room to make it a game, before Wilcox Central hung on for the 65-60 victory. With the win, the Jaguars advanced to Saturday's 4A Regional Final against the winner of Escambia County and Charles Henderson.
Trailing by 15 points at the break, the Rams actually battled back to briefly lead in the third quarter. But, the Jaguars survived, scoring 20 points in the final period to secure the victory.
Freddie Smith led the Jaguars with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Lorenza Dale had 15 points and 11 boards and Makarius Chapman added 13 points for the Jaguars.
Lonrezo Moore led Brewbaker Tech with 23 points. The Rams end the year with a 21-6 record.
