Why You Should Visit Kolomoki Mounds

The scenic views are not the only attraction at this historic state park. Tucked away just 6 miles north of Blakley, Georgia, the mounds have many things to do.

"Three hiking trails for a total of about 6 miles, we have 2 lakes, great for fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking, we have a beach area if you are interested in swimming in the lake. We have 7 picnic shelters, great for family get togethers and birthday parties"

Not only is the park enjoyable but historical and educational as well.

"You have to come and see our historic site and museum. Museum will get you admission to view the video and look at all the pottery we preserve here that has been discovered by the archeologist"

"We encourage you to come out and tour the rest of the mounds located on the park. We have 8 mounds in total here at Kolomoki "

Kolomoki mounds is great to visit all year around. With summer coming up, they even have activities for kids.

"The summer we are very busy with summer camps and outdoor activities that the kids enjoy while they are out of school. "
