Every Wednesday, News 4 This Morning takes a look at the stories from our show that viewers and readers are talking about on our webchannel and related social media.

On Monday, we told you about a telescope-viewing event in Mexico set to break a world record. Tuesday, in our poll question results, seven percent of you said that you stargazed through a telescope, the majority using their own eyes to gaze into the final frontier. On News 4's Facebook page, Tim Owens said he owns a telescope and that "it would be great if Dothan and other Wiregrass area cities would host more astronomy oriented events. It would also be great if Troy Dothan would start a really in-depth astronomy program."

Another story discussed on the morning show this week that generated lots of discussion involved jellybeans! Specifically, viewers took interest in our story about the unofficial holiday of National Jellybean Day. When we asked your favorite flavors, over 30 responded on our Facebook page!
Here's what some of you listed as your favorites:
Camille Craig: Cinnamon
Amber Arguelles: Juicy Pear
Tammy Vaughn's: Hawaiian Punch
Melissa Harmon: Popcorn
Amy Heath: Margarita
Many others listed cherry, watermelon and orange as favorites.

A story related to My Little Pony caught on online, but not about the animated series specifically. Over the weekend, Lauren Faust, the creator of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic who also worked on other popular animated series, backed a fundraiser for a California wildlife center. For each $10,000 raised, an animal at the center would be named after a pet from Friendship is Magic. The story attracted a lot of attention online, as it was re-tweeted several times. Users such as OneBrokePony, CJBrony, Brony Retweeet and Frostbite shared the story with their friends and followers. It also received 20 Facebook likes and is one of the most popular articles in our Watercooler section.

Monday morning, we reported about the planned construction of Pioneer Park in downtown Dothan, which will be constructed next to the federal courthouse. Several spoke their mind about this plan. On our webchannel, DMACC052 commented, "I think it's a nice idea. Think positive friends." A viewer by the name of Lois went further, saying "Why not make all of down town Dothan a park since most of the businesses are on the circle. Tear up all the asphalt and plant trees. Put up high fences and have a zoo. Why not ??" A gazebo and grassy area is planned for the future park.

For one of our recent installments of "This Day in History," we looked back to the 1985 launch of "New Coke," a re-formulated soda that ended up failing and being replaced by "Coca-Cola Classic." many of you remembered this, and for most, not fondly. On our Facebook page, Caryl Tucker said, "It was horrible! Glad they returned to the "classic" And, Cheryl Lawn commented, "I didn't like it at all. It tasted like it didn't have enough carbonation in it. Too flat. I refused to buy it." New coke did survive a few years in limited markets as "Coke II" but vanished in the early 90s after that.

And, finally, one video captivated many viewers and readers. It was a cycling race taking place in Turkey that led to a massive crash! No major injuries were reported, and the race did eventually finish. The article, which you can see on our webchannel along with the video of the collision, is the most popular article in our World News section, and one of the most popular in our Watercooler section as well.
