Unofficial Holiday of December 2nd: National Fritters Day

They're similar to pancakes, but with one major difference—the filling. They are fritters, and today marks an unofficial holiday celebrating the dessert.

In the United States, at least, fritter is made with a batter very similar—in some cases, identical—to that used to make pancakes. However, fruit or other filling, changes the pancake into a fritter.

December 2nd is unofficially National Fritters Day.
