"It's been hard, its definitely been life changing,"
26-year-old Raine Grimmer should be celebrating her 33rd week of pregnancy.
"When she passed out in April that was a whole other episode and her 5 year old little girl called her step-dad for help because she couldn't get her up, " says Grimmer's best friend, Shaina Prevatt.
Grimmer suffers from thyroid cancer.
She travels 4 hours a day, 7 days a week, to Pensacola.
"I've always had a thyroid problem since i was 11, i was diagnosed with graves disease in 2008. If i don't take the medication that i take now, i take shots every night, if i do not take that then i have blood clots that can either go to my heart or they go thru the umbilical cord of the baby and will kill the baby".
In 2009 Grimmer went into remission but after fainting in April, she learned the cancer was back.
"My thyroid levels had went up to greater than 100, they are suppose to be at like 1.5. He told me that I was near death and that he would have to start a different medication to see what they could do because if nothing happened then my heart would just beat until it exploded,".
Grimmer says with such an up and down journey, it's easy to get discouraged but says she has a strong support system.
"With all the support from the community and to see how many people care, that's really built my confidence to make me think that I'm wanted here. I have to be strong, ".
"She's strong willed. I don't know how she does it because I couldn't. She's in high spirits and she's confident and she's not going to give up, " says Prevatt.
A strength from within that keeps her going.
"She's the strongest person I know to go thru all this and she's Ranie, " says Prevatt.
"All I can do is be strong because if not then, I don't guess I would be here, " says Grimmer.
A gun cabinet donated by Randy Howell Capentry in Vernon will be raffled off on November 18th to raise money for Raine.
They will be selling tickets for the raffle tomorrow at the Circle H in Vernon.
