DALEVILLE -- IAM Local Lodge 2003 union workers are already feeling the affects of temporarily living without health coverage.

Union worker Shannon Tanner said his son was scratched by a puppy on Thursday and needed medical attention.

Fortunately a doctor from the Medical & Surgical Eye Center of Enterprise provided help at no cost to the Tanner Family.

Some union strikers said they will continue to stand in solidarity because they understand the importance of sufficient benefits.

"It's quite a struggle, it's something that I'm willing to do because I know the value of my contract, I know the value of having a good set of negotiated benefits," IAM Union Worker Tammy Cassells said.
