Two Houston County Pee Wee football teams are no longer headed to playoffs.
It started with what Houston County Pee Wee Association President John Bridges calls an honest mistake.
It is against Pee Wee Conference rules for a child to play for a team in one community while living in another. The only exception is for a player living in an area that does no't already have a Pee Wee football program.
The conference found that one of the players on Houston County's B team lives with his father during the summer and on weekends.
His dad lives in Webb, where the team practices. The player lives with his mother during the week and goes to school in Dothan.
That oversight cost both Houston County squads their ability to go to playoffs.
In the future, Bridges says he will be more thorough in going over player registrations.
