The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of two men on burglary and drug charges. On Monday, December 16 deputies responded to a residential burglary in the Dogwood Lakes community. During the investigation, deputies learned that a boat trailer, among many other items had also been taken.
The victims informed the deputies that the trailers wheels were seized up. Deputies then located the drag marks from the trailer and tracked them to some property in the Gritney Community. Deputies were then able to obtain a vehicle description from a witness. When deputies located the suspect vehicle, the suspects threw a bag out the passenger side window. The vehicle was then stopped and the driver, Jonathan Lee Shelton and the passenger, Victor Gillis. Deputies then located methamphetamine, paraphernalia, scales and baggies. Deputies then recovered a large amount of the stolen property from Shelton’s property.
Both remain in the Holmes County Jail awaiting first appearance. Sheriff Tim Brown would like to recognize the hard work of Deputy Willie Maples, Deputy Tim Howard, Deputy Bill Pate and Sgt. Tyler Harrison for their hard work in quickly solving this case.
Arrested and charged were, 26-year-old Jonathan Lee Shelton of Bonifay, Florida for methamphetamine possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was 23-year-old Victor Dewayne Gillis of Milton, Florida for burglary of a structure, grand theft, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
