A mobile home park and a school suffered damage after a strong storm and winds moved through near Lovelady, just north of Trinity, Sunday evening, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, a tornado touched down in two places with the first time hitting a mobile home park and then a school about a half mile away.
The National Weather Service has not confirmed that it was a tornado at this time, but is expected to have the area surveyed by the morning.
The sheriff said approximately six to eight structures were damaged by the storm. Four of the mobile home damaged are considered to be a total loss.
One woman, said to be in 50s, was injured when a tree fell on her trailer during the storm, the sheriff said. She was transported by a private vehicle with non life-threatening injuries.
The school only suffered minor damage. The sheriff said he does not believe it will affect school Monday.
