AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- The oak trees of Toomer's Corner at Auburn University were burned when toilet paper they were draped in caught fire early Sunday morning.
Reports suggest the incident happened around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, and that the trees and surrounding property were not seriously damaged.
The trees were draped in toilet paper following the school's football victory over Alabama A&M.
Auburn police told the newspaper that toilet paper draped across the oaks has accidentally caught fire before, and that it is unclear whether the trees were intentionally set ablaze.
Before catching fire, the trees were intentionally poisoned about two years ago by a University of Alabama football fan.
The fire is under investigation.
