A Taylor man is behind bars Tuesday night. He is accused in a domestic-related shooting. Houston County Deputies arrested 37-year-old Jeffrey Lee Willis. The investigation began last week when Willis reportedly fired at two women in a car. Authorities said they were family members.
Investigators said Willis fled the scene and had been in hiding. An anonymous caller told authorities he returned home last night.
"Deputies with Houston County went out there, with investigators in vice, and he turned himself in to us without any altercation,” said Lieutenant Bill Rafferty, of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
Willis is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, domestic violence, and animal cruelty. His bond is $545,000.
