Sweltering Heat Sweeps Australia

Summer is getting off to a sweltering start across Australia.

Beaches and pools were filled saturday, as temperatures climbed into the upper 30s and low 40s C. (97 to 106 F)

Officials say the intense heat is raising the danger of bushfires.
