Dothan residents could soon get to vote on Sunday alcohol sales.
Dothan city commissioners asked the state to allow a vote on the issue.
Representative Dexter Grimsley sponsored the bill in the house.
It has been approved.
However, the matching bill in the senate hasn't even been brought up for debate.
"The leadership of Dothan has decieded to give the people the opportunity to make that choice," said Grimsley. "Of course it is up to personal opinion of whoever deciedes to vote on it. But it is up to you to decide whether you want the purchase of alcohol on Sundays."
If the legislature approves the vote, it's unclear when it would be put on the ballot.
