The saying "it's better to give than to receive" was brought to life in Mrs. Nelson's class at Northview high school this morning.
Instead of exchanging gifts with each other, students decided to donate to toys for tots.
The students said they wanted to make Christmas happy for the less fortunate.
And here's their message for wiregrass families this holiday season.

"We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Merry Christmas"

The students brought in toys ranging from teddy bears to streamers.
