Straughn set the tone early, and never took it's foot off the gas, hammering Abbeville 48-29 at the 3A South Regional Semifinals on Thursday. With the win, the Lady Tigers advanced to face the winner of Daleville and Opp in the Regional Final on Saturday.
The Tigers held the Yellow Jackets to 17 percent shooting on the day, including a 2-of-21 effort in the first half. Straughn also outrebounded Abbeville 35-18.
Brittany Driver and 15 points and 10 rebounds and Jacie Williamson chipped in 11 points and 10 boards for the Tigers.
Shyanne Peterman led Abbeville with 15 points, including 14 in the second half. The Yellow Jackets end the year with a 20-7 record.
